• Indoor Potable Water Use Reduction, by using high efficiency flush and flow plumbing fixtures: 29.57%

• Materials: Focused on minimizing the embodied energy and other impacts associated with the extraction, processing, transport, maintenance, and disposal, as to support a life-cycle approach to resource efficiency, the project earned the following:
  • Environmental Product Declarations: 44.5 weighted products have disclosed third-party verified life-cycle assessments indicating potentials on the required 6 impact categories (global warming, ozone depletion, acidification, eutrophication, smog generation and primary energy consumption) which provide key indicators for the selection of project materials.
  • Material Ingredients:  35 products have publicly available transparency documentation, citing ingredient lists to the 1000 ppm.
    • Material Ingredients Optimization: 5.5 product ingredients have been evaluated and benchmarked to additional third-party standards.
  • Construction Waste Diverted from the Landfill: 89%
• Low-Emitting Materials were installed to reduce interior airborne VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) (per v4.1):
  • Flooring: 100% of products were third-party tested, for VOC emissions evaluation certification
  • Ceilings: 100% of products were third-party tested, for VOC emissions evaluation certification
  • Insulation: 90.74% of products were third-party tested, VOC emissions evaluation certification.
• Quality Views were achieved for 75.82% of the regularly occupied floor area. Views to the exterior allow occupants to see the surrounding landscape features as well as sense the passage of time, during the day and throughout the seasons.
• Air Sample Testing was completed just prior to occupancy to test indoor air quality for common airborne particulates and VOCs.

INOVATION

Pilot Credits contain criteria being evaluated for incorporation into the next iterations of the LEED rating systems. Criteria often extend beyond the boundaries of common sustainable practices to drive additional market transformation. Project teams are asked to use, evaluate, and share feedback with the USGBC.

• Integrative Analysis of Building Materials: The project uses 3 materials that have documented qualitative analysis across five life-cycle stages.
• Onsite Carbon Sequestration Through Plantings: To earn the point a project has to demonstrate at least a 10% increase in carbon sequestration by all trees and shrubs on the proposed site compared to the baseline site. SE Precinct demonstrated a 193% increase from the baseline existing conditions prior to development.
• Exemplary Performance: Earned for percent of environmental product declarations that exceeded 40 tallied products.
• Exemplary Performance: Earned for On-Site Renewable Energy Production.
